Tollymore Forest Park

Tollymore Forest Park is open to the public all year round and is an ‘area of outstanding natural beauty’.  It covers 630 hectares at the foot of the Mourne mountains and offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the sea at nearby Newcastle, Co. Down.  Engage in activities such as forest walks, mountain hikes, bike rides, river dips and picnics.  Encounter wildlife such as, horses, beaver, deer, red squirrels, pine martens, red kites and many birds of prey.  The Forest Park is one of the principal locations for the ‘Game of Thrones’.  While, CS Lewis, a frequent visitor to the park, was so excited by its magic that he used it as a model for his fantasy land ‘Narnia’.
