Tollymore Forest Park
Having extensively travelled I can confirm this is one of the most beautiful locations in the world. Tollymore Forest Park was the first state park in N. Ireland and is classified as an ‘area of outstanding natural beauty’. It covers 630 hectares at the foot of the Mourne mountains and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the sea at nearby Newcastle, Co. Down. While experiencing the park you can engage in activities such as mountain hikes, bike rides, forest trails, river swimming, picnics and encounter wildlife such as, horses, beaver, deer, red squirrels, pine martens, red kites and many birds of prey. Additionally, the Forest Park is one of the principal locations for the ‘Game of Thrones’. While, CS Lewis, a frequent visitor to the park, was so excited by its magic that he used it as a model for his fantasy land ‘Narnia’. His book 'The Chronicles of Narnia’ has sold 120 million copies in 47 different languages.
Conveniently, located 1.5 hours from Dublin & Belfast airports.
Immerse yourself fully in nature and all it has to offer. Breathe a little deeper, move a little slower and fill yourself with joy and gratitude for the beauty that surrounds you
